The State of Maine is a wonderful, beautiful and large State with abundant wilderness. Maine
is recognized as one of the most healthful states in the nation with average 70 degrees F in the summer
and 20 degrees F in the winter. Population approximately 1.2 million. It has a total area of
33,215 square miles, its coastline measures over 3,500 miles, which is longer than Maine to
California. Maine boasts 6,000 lakes and ponds, 32,000 miles of rivers and streams, 17 million
acres of forestland, and 2,000 islands. Also has 63 lighthouses. It consists of 16 counties which
has 22 cities, 424 towns, 51 plantations and 416 unorganized townships, gores and land grants. The
following maps depict most of these areas, but not all are included. Some towns are within other
towns, villages and cities. If a link is established, we will place the appropriate links to that
location. These maps were designed by our company and are the only maps of its kind. Contact us
